About the Client

In late 1997, Chemical Abstract Services designated the University of Pittsburgh as an alpha-software test site for their new CAS SciFinder Scholar product. I coordinated the alpha-test and established the web site to provide users with important information during this test phase and to gather feedback. According to CAS, Pitt generated during 1998 the most feedback of all test sites, tremendously helping to improve the quality of the software package.

Design Overview

The web site was bare-bones, and marked my first forays into web design. The only software used was BBEdit. The site was accessible for about a year and I was in charge of upkeep and all design decisions (What design?). Check out the thumbnails to the right.
