About the Client

Julia Tan spent her first career as a leading research scientist and teacher, with a Ph.D. in chemistry from Yale University. However, her true passion has always been the arts, one which she is now happily able to indulge full-time in her second career as a jewelry designer.

Julia believes that a piece of jewelry should reflect the cheerful, free spirit of both the wearer and the creator. The work should have unlimited freedom in forms, texture, and color, yet retain a sense of simplicity. She has produced custom, one-of-a-kind designs in gold with faceted gemstones for many years, which allows the wearer to take pride in participating in the design process.

Design Overview

When Julia first contacted our design team, she merely wanted to create a way to display her beautiful artwork. However, during the initial discussion that our designers conduct with each client, Iserloh Design convinced Julia to go for a full-fledged customized online store that would allow her to easily add new items to the catalog and sell merchandise via a secure online credit card transaction.

Iserloh Design identified a suitable e-commerce package and subsequently customized layout, design and content to specifications. Throughout the store implementation, Julia requested additional software modules that would make her life as an online store owner much easier - Iserloh Design selected in each case appropriate software solutions that were efficiently integrated into the ecommerce architecture. As a result, Julia now processes online purchases through her existing POS system, with minimal extra monthly costs.
